Research lines: Disaster risk communication; media interventions; humanitarian and peace journalism; journalism and forced displacement due to extreme events in Latin America.
MiniBio: PhD in Communication and Contemporary Culture from the Federal University of Bahia (PÓSCOM/2019). Thesis on media coverage of forced migration due to climate extremes, with a special focus on sources of information and authorship in journalistic discourses of traditional and alternative products from different countries. Master in Communication from PósCom at UFBA (2013), with a dissertation on journalistic narrative on Twitter. Graduated in Social Communication from the Methodist University of São Paulo (2007). She worked as a Communications Advisor at the Pro-Rectory of University Extension (PROEXT/UFBA 2015). She worked on the Risk Communication and Dissemination team (2023-2024) and the Participatory Process (2024) of the project to develop the first National Civil Defense and Protection Plan, developed within the scope of the International Technical Cooperation BRA/12/017 – Project to Strengthen the Culture of Disaster Risk Management in Brazil, between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development (MIDR), through the National Secretariat for Civil Defense and Protection (Sedec). As a researcher at HumanizaCom, she dedicates herself to research on Disaster Risk Communication (CRD), Humanitarian and Peace Journalism, and Media Interventions, with a focus on human displacements forced by extreme weather events in Latin America.
