Intercom Southeast – May 2025
HumanizaCom researchers will be participating in Intercom Sudeste, in Campinas, from May 15 to 17. The following researchers have been approved in working groups (WGs): Cilene Victor, Amanda Ganzarolli, Filomena Salemme, Francisco Santos, Leandro Barbosa, Lilian Moreira, Louis Edoa, Kamila Lovizon, Renata Juliotti and Thaís Aielo. In this edition of Intercom Sudeste, researcher Thaís Aielo is coordinating the Communication and Work Binomial WG: Theories and Empirics with Professor Jamir Kinoshitae (USP); and Louis Edoa is coordinating the Communication and Education in the Climate Emergency WG with Professor Cilene Victor.
VI Congress of the Latin American Society for Risk Analysis – May 2025
Members of HumanizaCom will be present at the 6th Congress of the Latin American Risk Analysis Society (SRA-LA), to be held between May 19 and 23 in Curitiba. In addition to the group leader, Professor Cilene Victor, who is one of the speakers, researchers Lilian Moreira and Filomena Salemme and researchers Franciscos Santos, Leandro Barbosa and Randalle Ayashi will present the partial results of their research.
V Brazilian Symposium on Moral Theology – May 2025
For the first time, Professor Cilene Victor will be participating in the Brazilian Symposium on Moral Theology, which in its fifth edition, to be held between the 20th and 22nd, will address the theme Global Conflicts and Situations - Violence, fundamentalism and the rebirth of hope. The leader of Humanizacom will be the speaker on the first day of the event, invited to address the panorama of the global situation, with an emphasis on conflicts and international situations.
5th FLUC Communication Sciences Conference – June 2025
For the first time, a group of researchers from HumanizaCom is participating in the Communication Sciences Conference of the Faculty of Arts of Coimbra, Portugal. With the theme (Re)Thinking Alternative Communication in the Contemporary World, the event will take place on the 25th and 26th, in a hybrid format. Researchers Amanda Ganzarolli, Lilian Moreira and Kamila Lovizon and researcher Leandro Barbosa are participating in this sixth edition of the Conference with a paper presentation. The group leader, Professor Cilene Victor, was a member of the event's scientific committee.
ACUNS Annual Meeting, em Nairobi, Quênia – junho 2025
HumanizaCom will once again be present at the 2025 Annual Congress of the Academic Council on the United Nations System, which will take place between June 23 and 25, in Nairobi, Kenya, and also online. Professor Cilene Victor, researcher Renata Juliotti and researcher Louis Edoa will be participating in the event, presenting their papers. The leader of HumanizaCom will also be at the roundtable "Development and Climate Justice in the Global South: Perspectives from Local Journalism", with experts and journalists from Uruguay, Argentina, Ghana, Kenya and Iran.
Researcher Ahmad Alzoubi launches book based on his thesis
HumanizaCom researcher, Jordanian-born Palestinian journalist Ahmad Alzoubi, launched the book Palestinian Diaspora in Latin America - Media Studies and Identity , the result of his doctoral research, developed in the Postgraduate Program in Communication, at the Methodist University of São Paulo, under the guidance of Professor Cilene Victor, and conducted within the scope of the research group. The launch took place over three days, May 6, 7 and 8, in the format of debates and round tables, including an event at the Union of Journalists of São Paulo, with the presence of historian Nur Masalha, professor at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), at the University of London.
